Orlando Business Journal Names the Blue Rose Best Real Estate Deal of 2006
Blue Rose stole show with Vegas-style entertainment complex.
Construction of commercial projects has showed no signs of slowing down in Orlando. In fact, 2006 may go down in the annals as the year of construction cranes.
So it's no surprise that more projects than ever were nominated this year for Orlando Business Journal's Best Real Estate Deals.
OBJ invited readers and community members to nominate their favorite deals in several categories, ranging from overall Best Real Estate Deal of 2006 to Best Project Sale.
The criteria for choosing the winners was not based on dollar amount or square footage, but, rather, on the projects' community impact, difficulties overcome and success.
The Blue Rose won as Orlando Business Journal's overall Best Real Estate Deal of 2006, as well as the Best New Hospitality Development.
Miami Beach-headquartered CMA Cos. is developing the $1 billion, 39-story project, which features a contemporary international design and will have the tallest residential building in the area.
The five-star resort residence will offer more than 1,300 condo-hotel units starting in the mid-$300s.
The Blue Rose also will have a Las Vegas-style entertainment complex with a 1,100-seat Broadway theater, boardwalk, five internationally themed restaurants, a spa and a conference center with 75,000 square feet of meeting space between
International Drive and the Orange County Convention Center.
